My name is Chris Drager. I
am the Youth and Family
Minister at Bethel Lutheran
Church in Gurnee, IL as well
as the Athletic Director at
Concordia Lutheran School.
When we moved six years
ago, my wife Dena and I were
searching for a Lutheran
school between Chicago and
Racine for our daughter,
Sophia. We discovered and
chose Concordia for its
educational philosophy,
student/teacher ratio,
curriculum and Christian
values. Our family initially
became involved at Concordia
because our daughter is a
student and we continue to
be involved due to the
outstanding education and
increasing friendships our
daughter and family are
experiencing as members of
the 'family of Concordia'
As a Director of Christian
Education, I take a great
interest in the faith
development of children and
families through Christ
centered education, sports,
youth ministry, speaking
engagements and special
events. In regard to
athletics, Concordia stresses
that participants are
Christian student
athletes...in that order! We
know winning is fun, but our
faith, education, skill
development, teamwork and
demonstrating good
sportsmanship must be top
priorities. What a blessing
to have staff, parents and
coaches working together to
enhance the Athletic
program and grow strong,
confident and well-balanced
youth.
