TO OUR GRADUATES – The faculty and staff pray you will be blessed richly as you continue your education.  May you always be strong in the Lord!  Come “home” and visit often ~ you will remain in our prayers!

STAFFING FOR 2010-2011 – Many of our current families have yet to register for next year making it very difficult to determine how many teachers will be needed and how to proceed with class arrangements.  Using the enrollment forms we have at this time we presently anticipate first and second grade to be a combined class,  (reading and mathematics instruction will be taught separately with and a classroom aide to be utilized during that time).  Following Final Registration, the School Board will determine how to fill the vacancies of Mrs. Kosmala and Mrs. Peters.  While numerous candidates are being reviewed, we are unable to proceed with decisions as to hiring/Calling until we have final enrollment numbers to fund that decision.   Your registration form is critical in our planning.  Please enroll NOW!  Your prayers are greatly appreciated as we work to further our ministry at Concordia.

CONGRATULATIONS to our top Pizza Sale fundraisers selling 35 items or more earning them a Limo Lunch that took place last Friday:  Bryce D, Lille D, Tori S, Alex S, Miranda D, Lela T, Seth M, David V, Brandon D, Rachel K, Korina T, Samantha P and Nolan C.

SIMPLE & EASY… that’s what we hope to make submitting your monthly tuition payments in 2010-2011.  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans offers a free monthly automatic deduction through their provider when you register through us.  You need not be a Thrivent member to participate in this program!  Sign up at Final Registration.  Currently, this program is optional for families who are making regular, timely monthly payments.  Beginning in August 2010, families who have fallen behind a month on two occurrences will be required to enroll in this program.  Register early and have one less thing to remember next year!

GOD’S RICHEST BLESSINGS are extended to Mrs. Baganz upon her acceptance of the Call to serve at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church as their Preschool Director.  We extend our most heartfelt thanks for her faithful, dedicated service at Concordia Lutheran School for the past four years.  Mrs. Baganz, our hearts are sad as you leave us, but we thank God for the blessing you have been to us and the work you will continue to do to further His Kingdom!

REMINDER – Report cards will be distributed this Friday, June 4th following our closing Service/Graduation held at 7 p.m. at Faith, in the gymnasiumNO report cards will be released prior to this time.  We can only distribute report cards if there is NO OUTSTANDING BALANCE on your account.  Tuition, Before/After Care, athletic fees, lunch I.O.U.’s, book fines or any other money owed will prohibit the release of the report card.  Please be certain your account is current.  Report cards not picked up following graduation will be held.  Please contact the office to make arrangements for pick up.  Thank you!

SAVE THE DATE – On Sunday, October 3rd Concordia Lutheran School will celebrate 40 years in Christian education. We are looking forward to celebrating this milestone in the ministry with you.  If you are interested in being on a committee to work on the planning of a dinner event, please contact the school office. J

SUMMER WORSHIP – We invite you to join us for worship this summer at any one of Association congregations.  Weekday and Sunday services are offered.  A complete listing of locations and worship time is available through our school office.  Nourish yourself through Word and Sacrament throughout the summer by joining us.  We hope to see you there.

WE THANK GOD for all of the volunteers who have so faithfully devoted their time and talents to the running of so many programs at school this year!  Where would we be if it were not for you?  There would be no hot lunch program, athletics, library, field trips or any of the wonderful “extras” that our children enjoy and benefit from.  WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!  You are a blessing.

TEN VOLUNTEER HOURS per family are required each year (seven for single parents).  We are drawing near to the end of the year – have you completed your ten AND SENT IN THE VOLUNTEER FORM?  Unfulfilled volunteer hours will be billed at a rate of $10.00 per hour.

A PAN OF BROWNIES, a tray of cupcakes, a tin of home-baked cookies…we welcome these and any other baked goods for our Trivia Night…Take Two, on Friday, June 11th.  You can drop off your donation on Thursday, June 10th when you are here for Final Registration.   Your baking time can be used to satisfy volunteer hours, too!  In addition, we are seeking donations of GIFT CARDS for area businesses that also may be used as prizes. Your donations are greatly appreciated!

SCRIP – Stock up for summer travels or consider making a small donation of a card or two for Trivia Night coming up.  Our final order for this year will be placed this Thursday, June 3rd with orders being filled on the spot if available or early the following week.  An order form is attached for your convenience.

STUDENT REFERRAL VOUCHERS were sent with last week’s newsletter so that you might assist us in bringing new families to our school family.  Bring a new student to the school and you will receive a $200 tuition credit (upon the completion of their year) AND we will waive the child’s registration fee.  We hope to see many purple papers coming in at our FINAL REGISTRATION on Thursday, June 10th.  Spread the word about Concordia, so we can put God’s Word in the hands and hearts of many new children here.

SAVE ‘EM THIS SUMMER – Please remember to save items from the attached list which earn our school dollars or free merchandise.

YEARBOOK PURCHASES – A few copies of this year’s wonderful photos and memories are available for purchase in the school office.  Cost is $20.00 per copy.  Checks may be made payable to Concordia Lutheran School.

TRIVIA NIGHT…TAKE TWO!!  Are you smarter than a 5th grader?  Or a fifth grade parent?  Have some fun seeing what you know as you and your team (2-8 people) compete for fun prizes against others.  Come on out to our Faith campus gym on Friday, June 11th at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $10.00 per person.  There will be plenty of food available in our concessions (pizza, hot dogs, pretzels and other yummy appetizer type snacks and goodies) so save your appetite.  You can bring your own snacks, too, if you’d like.  No carry-in beverages will be permitted, however.  Use the registration form sent home last week to save your spot or stop by the office this week to register.  Call in registrations will be accepted in the office.  We look forward to another evening of fun & friendly competition.

GOD’S RICHEST BLESSINGS to Mrs. Peters and her family upon the arrival of Russell David born on Thursday, May 20th.  Little Russell was born at 2:34 p.m., weighed in at 6 lbs., 8 oz. and 18 inches long.  Congratulations to the Peter’s Family!

CHILD CARE SERVICES for 2010-2011 – Before School Care will again be offered as it was this school year.  We will be expanding our After School Care program next year.  Child care will be available on half-days and scheduled days off (Conferences, Winter-Break, Staff Development Days, and the like) providing we are able to find staffing.  Families will be required to pre-register for these services to assure that adequate staffing is arranged.  (Drop-offs without pre-registering will not be permitted.)  If you are interested in applying as a child care provider, please contact our office.  A signup sheet will also be available at Final Registration.

A ROUND OF APPLAUSE goes out to our Preschool through Second Grade students, teachers and aide for their outstanding production of Donkey Tales.  The countless hours of preparation and devotion resulted in an awe-inspiring performance!

FIELD DAY FROLICS!  Keep in mind this year-ending event will take place Thursday, June 3rd.   Students in grades 1-8 will spend the entire day at the Faith campus.  Remember to send your child dressed in his team color for the day.  The t-shirts that many of you ordered have been sent home or will be sent home today.

CHESS CLUB has concluded for the 2009-2010 school year.  Mr. Dan Moyer is to be heartily thanked for beginning this fine club and continuing to keep it running.  Mr. Moyer is seeking an assistant for the 2010-2011 school year to work with him and occasionally as a fill-in in his absence.  Chess Club meets every other Tuesday after school until 5:00 p.m.  Please call the office or sign-up to help at Final Registration !

CHAPEL OFFERING – Chapel offerings for the month of May supported Project Linus.  Through these gifts we hope to provide a sense of security, warmth & comfort to children who are seriously ill or traumatized through gifts of new, handmade blankets & afghans, created by volunteer “blanketeers.”   Thank you for supporting this project. Our offerings last week totaled $35.51 for a grand total of $268.07.

PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK - We would like to once again remember families from our school on a weekly basis.  This week please remember in your prayers the families of David (2), Genevieve (PS3) & Ian (PS4) V; Cameron (7) & Mason (4) W; Regan W (PS3), Mara W (K); Mitchell W (7); Haley W (4) and Shelby W (8).

“GOTCHAS” Our program can use any donations that you can provide.  These extras are enjoyed and appreciated greatly by our students.  This week’s winners received a can of Pepsi or refreshing bottled water to enjoy with lunch.  Congratulations to our winners!

A VERSE TO REMEMBER (Phillipians 4:8 NLT ) “And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter.  Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right.  Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable.  Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Thought for the day:   Today, spending more time thinking about God’s blessings, and less time fretting about the inconveniences of life.  Then, take time to thank the Giver of all things good for gifts that are simple or glorious, miraculous, and eternal.

Here’s wishing everyone a blessed Summer

from the Faculty & Staff!
